Saturday Night in Tokyo...

Ok...last night we goto the Sumidagawa (Sumida River) Fireworks in Asakusa (Eastern Tokyo). We got there only 20 minutes before they started. Bad idea seeing that about a million people goto it every year. We get there and are looking for OZ, a friend of ours. He was with a girl he kinda got stuck with for the day haha. So we are frantically calling him and trying to figure out where he is and just are wandering around aimlessly when he walks right next to us without even realizing it. We are all amazed at this point to find eachother. So then we go to the girl he didn't want to be with and the four of us are now trying to get to the river to see the fireworks. Oz says...you have to cross the bridge, that's what every one is doing...so we get there, after fighting our way there for like 15 minutes, and the cop says we can't go up there. So we fight our ways out of there and walk along the river about a block from it. then we get to the little park they have next to it. We walk into it and everyone is laying down on mats...and yelling at me to take my shoes off. So I take them off and we are tiptoing around everyone's mats and finally we manage to get to the river...

We walk up yet another set of stairs and Oz goes and sits down with this group of girls and starts talking to them and Miho and I are standing leaning up against the railing. The fireworks started late so right as we found our spots they started. That was cool. So then I realize...that girl oz was with is gone! I ask him where she is and he just shrugs his shoulders. he has no clue. So I ask Miho and Miho has no clue either. So I assumed she got lost or something. Then the group of japanese girls oz is sitting with make room on their mat for Miho and I, so we gladly sit down...being that this was a 2 hour firework show we needed to sit. We sit down and these girls are feeding Oz and I Japanese confections and Yebisu beer and JinRo shochu (Japanese Rice Wine a lil more wicked then Sake). Not only are they feeding us...but they are all wearing Yukatas (very much like kimonos, they are worn this time of year to the festivals to celebrate the end of the Rainy Season...). Basically I was in heaven. i had girls dressed alot like Geishas feeding me and my girlfriend is sitting right there watching it all...it amused her that a guy sitting next to his girlfriend could still get treated like this. haha. So basically I am inbetween Miho and the apparent Omega Geisha, the leader of the pack so to speak. This girl was crazy. She talked n a high pitched typical Jap girl next to foreigner (Gaijin) voice. She had this other guy next to her we thought was her boyfriend...so we (Oz, Miho, and I) could not believe this guy didn't care his gf was waiting on us hand and foot haha.

So now we get into the big fireworks and the girl starts moaning like she is having an orgasm. I was like what the hell!?!?! Miho, Oz, and I were looking eachother in amazement. Then she started saying all these things in a high pitched schoolgirl voice in japanese in response to the fireworks...then the pack of geishas lookalikes she is with all repeat her in unison. It was amazing. Then the two Jap guys that were there start yelling out English curse words cuz it is the only english they know. Then all the other drunk Japanese follow in unison. Oz and I kinda had a little fun with that teaching them a few new things....hahahaha. Then some guy standing behind me spills his beer all over me...I wasn't happy. So instead of yelling I look up at the guy and say "next time you spill it aim for my mouth!" The people who understood english all laughed haha. So then after that dries, and I now end up smelling like I am wearing Eau D'Asahi Super Dry for the rest of the night, we carry on. Then miho spills my beer onto my pants. It was a big can of Yebisu Beer..same sizre as the big "Silver Bullet" Coor's Light cans. I was very thankful for being drenched in beer again haha.

Then as the fireworks go on one of the other Japanese girls gives me a bag of popcorn. I, for some reason, could not get it open. So then the girl offers to open it for me...I wouldnt have it haha. I finally open it and take some then pass it around. It finally gets back to Oz and the Omega Geisha starts saying "Please...thank you.." then he had some and she was pleased. so then she apparently wanted some too and she started moaning out "I want, I want!" So he says "Would you like some more?" She replies, in a drunken, trying to be seductive, cutesy voice "Yeeesss" After this oz says "How bout more?!" She says "No more.." and follows it with a short moan. hahahaha...now picture this...Oz is british, this girl barely speaks english. If we put that on an audio tape it wouldn't sound like they were sharing popcorn.

Finally the fireworks are over...but not before the drunk J-guys go out and return with yet another bottle of JinRo. They were pretty drunk..I wasn't seeing as how more beer was spilled on me than I drank. I'd have had to have gotten drunk through osmosis. So they all are drinking like the sky is falling and chanting the fight song for the Arsenal..a british rugby team whose jersey oz had been wearing. Oz was leading the drunken chants like they were all at the rugby match back in the mother country. So then miho has to use the bathroom and I tell her to go cuz i wanna look after Oz. So she goes and no more than 5 seconds after she left the Omega Geisha says to me "is that your girlfriend?" I say "yes, why?" "Then she makes this yearning face and moves on to OZ. Then another Geisha lookin girl comes up an asks me the same...they all did it. As soon as i said yes they all moved onto Oz. Then Miho comes back an starts complaining about the bathroom lines and says we have to go and we tell OZ we will meet him in the center by the train station. We walk around for a while cuz everywhere we went there was a huge line for the bathroom. So we end up going to a Ramen Noodle Resteraunt and ending up having to order food so we can use the bathroom. So we ate Ramen and went to he bathroom. We finally made our way to the train and we went to Ginza first because we needed to get to an ATM before 11 cuz they all close at 11 here on saturday...

We get to ginza and all the ATM's are closed. We have only 7,000 yen..about 58 dollars...between the two of us for the whole night. That's not quite enough. So we find a Citibank ATM...they are the only 24 hour ATM's in Japan!!!!!!!! ARRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!! I use my card only in a last ditch attempt to see if there is any money...there is 3,000 yen in there so I grab it...sorry dad, it was an emergency. That was our cab money...

We get to Roppongi and then my friend Brian calls me...He says " dude, where are you?? Roppongi?? I'm sorry dinner took soo long I should have called you sooner to meet up with ya." I totally forgot about him during the night. Oz calls asking where I am...he went home home cuz he had no money and was a lil too drunk. Mind you it is only 1130 right now. So I say..yeeeaaahhh, no problem, come out an gimmie a call when you get here...so then Miho and I go to Gaspanic Club and are on the first floor. She goes to the bathroom and then these really beautiful j-girls are staring at me. They come over and stand next to me, mind you they aren't facin or talking to me. Miho comes back and they leave hahaha. So then we go meet Brian an goto a few different places. Then we are at Sid's Bar...a club one of our friend's owns. Then Oz calls and says "I'm at Matrix Bar, where are you? I tell him and he's there in 5 minutes." He had no money and owed a few guys from NY a few drinks haha. So I had like 4,000 to my name and the ATM's were turned off till 8am so we goto my friend Mark's bar and I say to him. Mark can I talk to you outside for a sec? So I ask him for 10,000 yen...80 dollars...and he gives it to me then says..Ryan promise me one thing, that you won't be irresponsible and spend on things like food and the subway ride home. use it to get drunk. just promise me that...I say back...ay ay captain... Oz is in his own world right about this time so he's laughing and then we go back to Sid's. Then we leave to go back to where Oz was at our friend tyson's bar. We get there and the NY'ers are gone. Oz freaks out haha. So he leaves for a lil whil and we then go someplace else. I forget where. We did the Roppongi bar hop last night.

Then we goto Bar Hideout...we know the owner there too haha. So we are there for a lil while and Miho gets tired and somehow she fainted so me and another guy picked her up and she was ok. She wasn't drunk, just tired. She was also a lil hungry. So then her friend Misako starts yelling at me all these uncalled for, hateful things haha. No one likes Misa..if you met her you'd understand why. She is japanese but she could perch on top of the Woolworth Building next to the other gargoyles. Thats not why no one likes her though. She is just a miserabe person and tries to make everyone else miserable too. So h...whatever. I kinda just blew her off and Brian, Miho, and I walked out to go home.

Since we were hungry we went to Freshness Burger. No lie the best cheeseburgers in the world come from Freshness Burger. Unreal fast food. McDonalds is garbage compared to it. So we eat those heavenly cheeseburgers and then go home. We got home and collapsed into bed hahaha.
