I heard some sad news today. My friend Glenn's home burned to the ground. His wife and their son are unharmed but it is sad nonetheless. They lost everything...I wish there was something I could do, being in Japan I feel so powerless to things that happen back in NY sometimes. Things I could change or help out with...I can't do anything from Tokyo.

As much as I hate to say it in spite of what happened to my friend, Miho and I have found the absolute perfect apt for the two of us. The only catch is that there is no elevator in the bldg. We are on the third floor so it's not that big of a deal. Otherwise, the place is huge. It is exactly what we were looking for. From the windows and balcony we have a beautiful view of the rest of Tokyo. The apt is on top of the highest hill in Toritsu-Daigaku and it faces east, or the rest of Tokyo. It's brilliant. We could not be happier. Let's just hope the application goes through and then we move in in a few weeks. It took long enough.

Damn these anal-retentive real estate agents here in Japan, they suck!
