This Land

"This Land" by George Bush and John Kerry. An instant classic.

Beer Pong and Kamakura Rock

Sunday night we had a Beer Pong tournament. It was Clint, Miho, Jose, Joshua, and myself playing. Alternating the teams. We played for several hours and got totally hammered. Joshua does not drink, so whoever was on his team had to drin kall the cups, no matter what. So we all alternated him. If one person stuck with him the person would die. Then Miho forced him to drin ka cup. He wasn't happy haha. But he drank it, so it's all good. I was so drunk I passed out at 11 and didn't wake up till 9am yesterday morning.

Being that yesterday was Ocean Day, a national holiday in Japan. I could think of no better place to be than Kamakura for the day. Kamakura could quite possibly be my favorite place in Japan. Miho and I took the train to Yuigahama Beach. Follow the link and it's the second one down. That beach is soo much fun. Not only is it filled with beach bars and tons of little hotties in bathing suits, but it's also almost completely foreigner free. The one down side is that it is a bit dirty. It reminds me of a cool Jones beach.

When we first got there all we saw were bars lined up and down the beach on the sand. We were elated. Then we dropped everything and ran into the water. We had brought a small football and frisbee with us. We eventually ended up losing the football in the water after getting drunk and forgetting about it. The frisbee we managed to keep haha.

There were these guys right near the water playing some game where you spin around in many circles and are blindfolded. Then you have to find your way to a watermelon on a towel and smash it with a stick. Everyone around you tries to help you by telling you the direction you should walk in. It was really funny. When the guy finally smashed it they tossed him in the air yelling some chant in Japanese.

So after swimming for a while, swimming entailed me tackling Miho into the waves and dunking her under hahaha, we went back to the Malibu Beach Bar. We spent half the day there. The bartender was crazy. We asked him to mae the drinks (all of which had Malibu Rum in them) a little stronger and he practically filled up the glass with nothing but Malibu and only a dash of Pepsi. Guy was crazy.

Then Miho threw the frisbee on top of the bar, which was built like a Japamican style hut. So the guy climbed up on the bamboo and palm tree roof with some device that I swear to god was invented just to get things off of that roof. We ended up at the bar until it was dark. Then we decided to go home.

We stagger over to our belongings, a good 100 meters away, and cannot find our shoes. So we search the beach for our belongings and find them, phew! On our way off the beach we here a dart board. We run over and decide to have a few more drinks and play darts. So 3 Long Island Iced Teas later I am toast. I cannot function anymore. We decide to go home. When we get to the train station I feel really hot. SO I take off my shirt and I am totally cooked. My entire body is RED!! It hurts! So Miho covers me in Aloe and I go all the way home from Kamakura to Yoyogi with no shirt on sleeping on the train. It sucked. When I got home everyone laughed at me...the taiwanese girl put more aloe on my back though :) so it's all good.

I am now recovering from the best weekend in Japan in a while. 3 day weekends are always good.

This is a great article about the Yanks and Sox...it brings up the possibility of Clemens returning to NY or Boston...that would be soo cool!
