Atleast He's Not Shinjo

During Tsuyoshi Shinjo's time with the Mets he became a fan favorite in NY but he never amounted to much more than a novelty to baseball fans. Here in Japan everyone likes him as well. He is a good guy, he loves kids, does tons of charity work, and overall is a great person. In spite of all that everyone here in Japan thinks he is a total moron. Which, to be quite honest, is the truth. After a raucous weekend at Fenway Park, in which the Red Sox actually managed to win two games, Curt Schilling had the following words to say about Alex Rodriguez. "Schilling, the Red Sox ace, said before last night's series finale with the Yankees that Rodriguez "overreacted in the situation" and called A-Rod's actions after he was hit with a pitch in the third inning "stupid." (NY Newsday). Not for nothing but if A-Rod was on the Sox this would have initiated the traditional Yankee bashing that the Yanks are trying to take down their star, that they were sore for not getting him and losing him to the Sox, etc, etc.

Looks like Curt is a little sore himself about not getting A-Rod. Everyone knows that Arroyo was gunning for A-Rod. Just cause he acts upset and gives a few stares does not mean that Veritek has to fight him.

Remember in the playoffs last year when Roger Clemens threw a pitch a little high and tight to Manny Ramirez and he flipped out screaming and pointing his bat at Roger like he was ready to charge the mound with the bat? Of course everyone saw that image. He wasn7t over reacting there according to Sox fans, he was just protecting himself and his team mates.

Tanyon Sturtz should not have put Gabe Kapler in a choke hold, of course that was wrong. But should Pedro Martinez have bounced Don Zimmer off the grass? Hell no! Things just got out of hand and people reacted. Shit happens Schilling. Why don't you just shut the hell up and go out and win? The Red Sox and their fans are so worried about winning the publicity war that they never win the battles on the field. As long as the Yankees are able to keep what happens on the field on the field and not let it get to them emotionally and take over their lives like everyone in New England does they will keep winning, and the Sox will never beat them.

I know in bitching like this I am sinking to the level of all Sox fans. I am above this as well. It's just about time someone said something though. Curt Schilling has beat the Yanks in the World Series before, so he can actually say whatever the hell he wants. The man is a proven winner. Sometimes though, he is as outspoken as Charles Barkley to the point its like "man just shut up and play." Look at the standings and that is all that matters at the end of the year. The Yanks always win and never trash talk. Y'all run your mouths and invent ways to lose to the Yanks.

Above all else I am sure that everyone, even Schilling can agree on one thing. No matter how big of an idiot that he thinks Alex Rodriguez is, there is none bigger than Tsuyoshi Shinjo, now playing back in Japan for the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters.
The Mets could only hope for a guy wth this much creativity. Last time someone wore a costume in the dugout he looked like Groucho Marx. FYI, Groucho is now managing the Chiba Lotte Marines here in Japan. he brought Benny Agbayani and Matt Franco with him to Japan. The team is not doing well. Posted by Hello
