Typhoon Blasted Through Tokyo

Over the weekend Typhoon Ma-on cruised through Tokyo. It killed 6 people and was the largest storm to hit the Tokyo area since records were started to be kept. It was a massive storm that paralyzed all forms of travel from cars to planes, and even trains; everything was halted.

Somehow my family did not find it necessary to send me so much as an email after the storm to see if everything was ok. Granted, Tokyo is a huge city and I am obviously ok...but everyone else I know, even Miho who's parents are a mere half hour west of where we live, got a phone call or email.

Nor did they email or call me after the 5.7 earthquake that hit not too long ago. My family really has shown it's true colors in the last year. It's bad enough they resent the fact that I moved to Tokyo, but atleast hey could make it look like they care if I make it home in one piece. Why I want Miho to meet them is beyond me.

Back to the Typhoon...as the eye passed over Tokyo it was night time. Miho and I went up on the roof and watched it pass directly over us. It was really cold out but eerily calm. Then the clouds started rolling back in. Soon we could no longer see the tops of both Roppongi Hills and Tokyo Tower...of which we have killer views of. Then the wind picked back up and we decided to head back inside. The sheer beauty of the whole thing was awesome. It floored Miho, who had never seen anything like it in her whole life. Typhoons are cool.

Still no luck on the job hunt. Just got off the phone with Immigration, should have no problem extending my visa...*sigh of relief* so long as I find a new job. If I can't find one by December then maybe it is time to pack it in eh??

GO YANKEES!!!

Because, my friend, you play for the Red Sox and thus are cursed. Posted by Hello

Another example of how much my family sucks ass: They all root for the Red Sox purely to spite me. Being from NY they probably cannot even tell the names of more than five players on that fucking team off the top of their heads...I know the Yankees entire 25 man roster...and I live in Tokyo. I have also been to Fenway Park more times than all of them combined...die hard fans? I think not. It isn't the year, the sooner you realize that the sooner you will stop resenting me as way of diverting your true hatred away from where it should be directed...at each other.
