さよならあいちゃん!!!

To date the United States has a total of 29 medals; 10 Gold, 10 SIlver, 9 Bronze. Only China has more Gold Medals with 11.

I usually root for Japan being that I live here but there was one little girl who really got under my skin watching her play. Her name is Ai Fukuhara, or Ai-chan as she is affectionately known to the Japanese. This dopey little 15 year old girl pumped her fist with every single point she won. No matter how big or small. It's one thing if you pump your fist after a long volley, or if you make a sick shot, or if you win a game or the match. But to do it for every point. That's a bit rediculous. So when she was losing to Kim Kyung Ah, of South Korea, she almost burst into tears during the match. That would have been sweet music to my ears haha.
Ai Fukuhara in dismay as she loses to South Korea's Kim Kyung-Ah. Posted by Hello

In other news, Japan was walloped 9-4 by Australia in baseball.

In swimming the United States flat out dominated the 800m Free Relay. They beat the old world record by 2.05 seconds. The race was over from the beginning. Watching this race live on TV right after Miho and I arived home at 3:30am, more on that in a second, you could se the clocks showing a clear world record pace. It was a great race, USA USA USA!!

Now on another sport that should not be in the olympics besides ping pong, darts. Rightly so it is not seeing as how bar room games shouldn't. Miho and I went to Monkey's Dart Bar in Roppongi. The place actually has a giant monkey's paw for a door handle and is in a jungle motif. Pretty funny. Anyway, onto the darts. Miho kicked my ass. We played for hours and I beat her only 2 times. At one point she scored so many points (480) that the bar gave her a free set of personal darts to use whenever she goes there. Much better than the piece of shit darts I was stuck using. After that it was all she wrote. I beat her only one time, whilst we were playing a J-couple. You need to score 450 to get what is referred to in there as "My Darts." A J-girl I am assuming goes there so often she has a cot in the back struggled through informing Miho in english that "In this house you score 450 and you get 'my darts.' You score 480, you get them." Then Miho told the girl she was Japanese and the girl was totally shocked. Then she explained it in Japanese and it made much more sense. So the bar took Miho's picture in front of a dart board and put it up on the wall. Then they gave her a brand new set of darts that are so nice you have to assemble them everytime you use them, etc, etc. That was supposed to be our last game. 3,000 yen in coins and 2 hours later we finally left with Miho laughing at me the whole way.

This after a tuesday night in which I scored a 558 in darts at work and won 10 free drinks hustling people in Count Up and Cricket...I just can't win when I play her though for some reason.
