I am so hungry I made the mistake of eating the katsu-don pork bowl) at Yoshinoya today...a disgusting substitute for the guyo-don (beef bowl). It just isn't the same. It doesn't work. It's gross. I am almost willing to go all the way out to Tsukiji just to have a beef bowl. They are serving beef bowls at the original Yoshinoya in Tsukiji to preserve the beef bowl heritage. They are using Japanese beef and it is not the same...but better than that disgusting pork thing they have manifested in the wake of the US Beef "Scandal" as the Japanese press refers to it. It sucks that the Yoshinoya in Times Square is serving a beef bowl made with American beef, a proper one, yet in Tokyo I cannot get one...I demand satisfaction!
New Yorker in Tokyo: Go Yankees!!! 東京のアメリカ人です:よい運のヤンキース!!!
"Take 10 Times Squares, complete with neon lights and bustling crowds, and pack them into a city on subway stops, and you get Tokyo. By day, Tokyo's subways are filled with manga-reading business men and uniformed school kids, and by night, cell-phone slinging teens trying to look oh-so-American with their dyed blond and brown hair."-virtualtourist.com
